With reference to your letter of the 12th of

February 1695 I have the honour to transmit to you for

the consideration of the Secretary of State a copy of a

letter wich we have received from Mr J.Collet formerly

Sergeant of Police in Hong Kong notifying that he has

accepted an appointment under the Imperial Government and I

have to enquire whether Mr Collett's pension of #35.4.0

per annum is affected thereby.

2. Mr Collet's salary prior to retirement

was at the rate of $720 per annum plus an allowance of

$30 for knowledge of Chinese.
